Meta tags must be present in the page's HTML source for social crawlers to read them reliably. A visual preview alone does not publish or test your metadata.
How to Use
Follow these steps to create social sharing meta tags.
- Enter your page title. Choose a clear, descriptive title that tells people what your page is about.
- Write a description. Summarize the page in a concise, useful sentence or two.
- Choose the Open Graph type. Use Website for a normal page, Article for an article, or the relevant type for your content.
- Add the canonical page URL. Enter the full public URL, including https://, so platforms can identify the correct page.
- Enter your website name and locale. These fields help describe the site and the language/region of the page.
- Add a social image. Use a public image URL. A landscape image around 1200 × 630 pixels is a common starting point. Add alt text to describe it.
- Review the live preview. Check the title, description, domain, and image. The preview is illustrative and is not an exact copy of every social network's display.
- Generate and copy the tags. Select Generate Tags, then Copy Tags or Download HTML.
- Install and test the code. Add the generated tags inside your page's
<head>element. Publish the page and use the relevant social platform's sharing debugger or preview tool to check the result.
Important: Social platforms may cache old metadata. After updating a page, use the platform's debugging or refresh tool where available. The image URL must be publicly reachable by the platform's crawler.
